Lac des Roche Resort

Lac Des Roches Resort is located on a splendid, pristine lake that is perfect for the more laid back type of recreational activities. Lac Des Roches is 9 miles long and up to 150 feet deep, with shoals, sunken islands and islands with reeds . . . perfect for fishing. The fish of Lac Des Roches are Black water and Gerrard rainbow, which have been introduced by fisheries; there are native rainbow trout and burbot that may be better known as a fresh water cod. Thanks to the lakes' new spawning channels our trout are now averaging 3-pounds, with a maximum of 19-pounds. You will not find jet skis or water-skiing at this resort. Lac Des Roches is a great lake for canoeing, swimming, fishing and just plan relaxing. Lac Des Roches Resort is a true winter wonderland, easy accessibility yet you have a feeling of being in the midst of true Canadian wilderness. At Christmas everyone refers to our lodge as Santa's house. All the trees are laden with snow, paths and driveways perfectly formed . . . picture perfect! One thing about the South Cariboo . . . lots of snow but usually very bright beautiful days. We have ice-fishing huts for those who wish to try for one of the lake burbot ( Freshwater cod ) also known as freshwater cod. Bring your cross country skis as we have 30 km of bush trails taking you through some beautiful forest or for those who wish a real fast workout the 9 mile lake makes an excellent ski trail.
